Professional Skier
THAT'S ME ...
... a professional & passionated cross country skier from the German Alps. My goal is to race at the World Championships. My path there is a bit different.
Sometimes you realize something quite late, although it has been anchored in your heart for many years. That is exactly how my goal of becoming a world-class skier developed. After successfully returning from a two year skiing scholarship in Alaska, I was closer to my childhood dream than ever. However, with a MBA degree in my pocket it also seemed logical to stop racing and pursue a "true" job career. I'm honestly not a "compromise person" - but in this case I just could not get rid of the idea to combine a job with an athletic career.
Last year I skied my first real World Cup season and was nominated for the German national ski team in spring 2019. Yet, I work part-time for ABUS in the cycling industry and train the most professional I can. My job is not only a job, it also provides me with interesting challenges beyond the athletics. The same way I love ski racing, I do love cycling and I try to approach my work as passionate as I do my daily training sessions.
